Product Information

Active Co-enzyme Forms of B Vitamins:

Most B-complex formulas may have little effect on health because the body has to convert the B-vitamins into their active, coenzyme forms in order to utilize them. We have designed a complete B-complex formula with the most active coenzyme form of the B vitamins in the correct balanced dosage to ensure optimal absorption.

Suggested Use

Take 1 capsule 3 times daily with food or as directed by a health care professional.

Key Ingredients

Vitamin B1

Vitamin B1 is needed to convert glucose (sugars) and amino acids (from protein) into energy in the body. Benfotiamine, the form we use, is 5 times better absorbed than conventional Vitamin B1 (thiamine) supplements. Benfotiamine reduces advanced glycation end products (known as AGES) by 40%. AGES increases with aging, imbalanced blood sugar, diabetes and they damage the body and brain. Benfotiamine supports the urinary tract, cognition, nerves, vision, kidney, and hormone function. It has been shown to reduce nerve pain by 50%.

Vitamin B2

Vitamin B2 plays a key role in the conversion of tryptophan to vitamin B3 and the conversion of folate to other forms, as well as the activation of vitamin B6. Riboflavin-5-phosphate is the active form necessary for fat and glucose (sugar) metabolism, manufacture of red blood cells, eliminating migraines, and the production of hormones. Riboflavin-5-phosphate is particularly important for healthy skin and eyes.

Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3 is essential for the production of ATP giving us energy, DNA repair, inhibiting LDL (bad) cholesterol, aiding hormone production, and detoxifying toxins from the body. Most vitamin B3 supplements are in nicotinic acid form (niacin), which has been associated with an unpleasant ‘flushing’ effect, causing warming and itching of the skin. Inositol hexanicotinate is the form of vitamin B3 used in Bsmart which provides optimal absorption and does not cause flushing and redness of the skin.

Vitamin B5

Vitamin B5 is needed for cellular respiration and energy production. Calcium d-pantothenate is the form of vitamin B5 in Bsmart. Vitamin B5 helps lower total cholesterol levels and LDL (bad) cholesterol levels.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 is made up of three forms, pyridoxal, pyridoxine, and pyridoxamine. Each has a different action in the body. Pyridoxal-5’-phosphate (P5P), the form chosen for Bsmart, is the best form of B6 because it is converted into the coenzyme form necessary for over 100 essential enzymatic reactions in the body. P5P aids amino acid metabolism, is required to make essential fatty acids, red blood cells, and hemoglobin as well as neurotransmitters in the brain including converting tryptophan to serotonin your ‘happy’ hormone.

Vitamin B7

Vitamin B7 commonly called biotin is involved in the metabolism of protein, carbohydrates and fats and aids the production of collagen in the skin, hair, nails, tendons and joints.

Vitamin B9

Vitamin B9 also known as folate or folic acid is needed to form new red blood cells, the synthesis and repair of DNA, and to prevent dementia. Folate is recommended before a woman becomes pregnant to reduce the risk of neural tube defects such as spina bifida in the fetus. One in 3 people has a genetic mutation that impairs the ability to convert folate to L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF) the active form found in nature. L-5-MTHF also plays a role in serotonin and estrogen metabolism. Detoxification of mercury, lead, arsenic, and estrogen requires L-5-MTHF. A toxic build-up of estrogens increases the risk of uterine fibroids and endometriosis. We have both folate and L-5-MTHF in Bsmart because prenatal research has mainly used folate in their studies on neural tube defects.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 has extensive research on the treatment of brain health. Methylcobalamin, the active coenzyme form of B12, is essential for the methylation cycle in the body. Methylation is involved in almost every biochemical reaction and occurs billions of times every second in our body’s cells.

Choline and Inositol

Choline aids the movement of lipids across cell membranes and the manufacture of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Inositol has anti-depressant and anti-anxiety action, reduces mood-associated PMS symptoms, and helps normalize glucose metabolism. Inositol also found as myo-inositol can not be converted into d-chiro-inositol in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Women with PCOS should use GLUCOsmart containing d-chiro-inositol for fertility.
